Frostval or Frostvale?
Frostval is the yearly winter holiday event celebrated across all Artix Entertainment games, inspired by the spirit of Christmas but uniquely shaped by the world of Lore. First introduced in AdventureQuest in 2003, Frostval has grown into a long-running tradition, where players return each year to experience new stories, seasonal quests, festive gift-giving, and limited-time rewards across all games.
Over time, Frostval has continued to evolve, introducing new stories, characters, and surprises year after year. What began as a single holiday has evolved into one of the most anticipated celebrations in the community.

But Frostval has never been just peaceful. Strange events, mischievous creatures, and legendary figures emerge each season, turning what should be a quiet celebration into something far more magical — and sometimes unpredictable.
Time and time again, heroes are called upon to defend Frostvale, protect its moglins, and ensure the spirit of the holiday endures.

What is Frostval?
Frostvale Village
At the heart of Frostval lies Frostvale Village — a snow-covered town nestled deep within the Northlands. Home to the Frost Moglins, this village is where the festive holiday begins.
Each year, it becomes the centre of celebration, filled with decorations, gift-making, and the bustle of adventurers arriving to lend a hand.
What begins as quiet snowfall quickly transforms into a season of lights, laughter, and celebration, as heroes gather to decorate the town, share gifts, and take part in the traditions of Frostval.
From decorated trees and bustling shops, to quest-givers and familiar faces, Frostvale Village is a place where new memories are made and old ones are remembered.
For many, this is where Frostval truly comes to life!
The first Frostval took place in December 2003 in AdventureQuest, marking the beginning of what would become one of Artix Entertainment’s most iconic traditions.
From the 18th to the 20th of December, players experienced Frostval for the very first time. Adventurers and Guardians waged war to save Frostval, working together to protect the celebration from numerous threats. It was also the first time Zorbak was introduced, adding a touch of mischief to the season!
Since then, every Frostval has built upon the last. New stories, characters, rewards, and challenges are introduced each year, creating over 20 years of magical history shared by players old and new.
And with each passing year, Frostval continues to grow!
Good question! There’s often confusion between the two — and honestly, it’s easy to see why. The names are similar, and even seasoned veterans have mixed them up from time to time.
Frostval (frost-vahl) is the winter holiday itself — the festive celebration, much like Christmas.
Frostvale (frost-vayle) is the magical village — the snowy home of the Frost Moglins where Frostval comes to life.
And with that… you’ll never mix them up again!
